Pierwszy Semestr 14 900,00 AUDDługość kursu 48 m-cy<p style="text-align:justify;">This course is designed to graduate early childhood educators who are competent, skilled teachers ready to work in schools and a range of early childhood settings.</p> <p style="text-align:justify;"> </p> <p style="text-align:justify;">A key feature of this course is the emphasis given to connecting theory with practice so that graduates will be proficient in developing effective early childhood educational programs for children from birth to 8 years of age that are informed by current research, policy and practice.</p> <p style="text-align:justify;"> </p> <p style="text-align:justify;">Partnerships with over 650 schools and numerous Children's Services settings allow pre-service teachers to gain experience in diverse settings, including public, private, metropolitan, regional and remote contexts working with children, families and communities.</p> <p style="text-align:justify;"> </p> <p style="text-align:justify;">In addition, a distinguishing feature of this course is that pre-service teachers have the opportunity in the fourth year of their course to specialise and broaden their knowledge and skills in an area of interest. You will build a high level of expertise in one of eight specialisations:</p> <ul><li><span style="text-align:justify;"> Early years education</span></li> <li>Early years and primary education</li> <li>Primary education (studied as a single degree or as part of a double degree course)</li> <li>Primary and secondary education</li> <li>Primary and secondary health and physical education</li> <li>Primary and secondary inclusive education</li> <li>Secondary health and physical education</li> <li>Secondary education (only studied as part of a double degree course).</li> </ul><p> The course will prepare you for teaching in an increasingly diverse, complex and changing world. You will engage with contemporary ideas and practices and learn how to foster the learning of children and young people with varied needs. This will enable you to develop your students' creative, intellectual, physical, personal and social capabilities.</p> <p style="text-align:justify;">While learning to handle the complex nature of teaching, you will develop the specific professional knowledge and teaching skills needed to engage students of various ages and developmental stages with particular school subjects. Depending upon your specialisation, you will develop the skills and knowledge needed to teach in learning areas such as the arts and music, English, mathematics, civics and citizenship, physical education, health and wellbeing, science and humanities. Professional experience placements offered throughout the course in urban, rural, remote or international locations and educational settings will build your knowledge of teaching and learning. These provide you with strategies for a successful research journey, appropriate research design and methodology, timely completion, and effective writing and communication skills.You must achieve an overall weighted average mark (WAM) of 70% in the first year of research preparation in order to continue into the thesis component of the course. </p> <p style="text-align:justify;">A PhD(I) may be undertaken in any School within ECU, provided there are supervisors available in your proposed research area, and the resources and facilities required to complete your proposed project are accessible. Pierwszy Semestr 14 950,00 AUDDługość kursu 48 m-cy<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="text-align:justify;">This course combines the coursework and placement requirements of the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited Master of Educational and Developmental Psychology course with the thesis requirements of the PhD course, with research undertaken in one of the areas listed below. Enrolment will be probationary with full admission to the course granted in the last three months of the second year of full-time study, or equivalent for part-time study, if performance on all components, including research confirmation proceedings, is satisfactory. The course develops graduates as independent specialist professionals with a commitment to lifelong learning of the theoretical, research, assessment and therapeutic skills involved in educational and developmental psychology. It develops the ability to think critically and analytically about the processes involved in educational and developmental psychology. Within the context of sound ethical principles, competencies across the lifespan will be developed through collaborative participation in coursework lectures and workshops, research and practicum placements across a variety of settings under the supervision of experienced specialist practitioners.
